Bob Smith Emerges From Primary In Strong Position, Advances To General Election
Voters Signal Desire for New Leadership, Practical Solutions, and Results

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Congressional candidate Bob Smith celebrated a strong showing in Tuesday’s primary election, earning a place in the November general election. “These results send a clear message,” said Smith. “Voters across the Central Coast are ready for a representative who will focus on solutions, accountability, and delivering results for our communities. I am honored by the trust voters have placed in our campaign.” Smith’s nearly 40 percent showing represents one of the strongest Republican performances in California’s 24th Congressional District in recent midterm election cycles and sets the stage for a November matchup with incumbent Rep. Salud Carbajal. Smith, an engineer and Navy veteran, built his campaign around bringing practical problem-solving to Congress and addressing issues that matter most to families throughout California’s 24th Congressional District, including affordability, energy, public safety, infrastructure, water reliability, and government accountability. Over the course of the campaign, Smith traveled throughout the district meeting with voters, community leaders, business owners, farmers, and families who expressed frustration with partisan politics and a desire for commonsense leadership. “This campaign has always been about the people on the Central Coast,” Smith said. “We’ve built a movement of Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and voters who simply want government to work better. Tonight’s results show that the message is resonating.” Smith thanked the thousands of volunteers, supporters, donors, and voters who helped power the campaign’s success.

making the case for new leadership and practical solutions to the challenges facing California’s Central Coast.
